AABJ Final Cut Pro Editing Workshop
Where: Georgia State University
When: Saturday, July 17th or Saturday, July 24th
3 hour sessions are available:
Morning 8:30am – 11:30am (8:00am check-in)
Afternoon 1:30pm – 4:30pm (1:00pm check-in)
Cost: AABJ & UNITY members* – $100 and Non-members – $150
($5.00 admin fee added to total if paid online via PayPal)
*Unity members are members of the other minority journalist organizations:
National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ); Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA); and Native American Journalists Association (NAJA).

Workshop Objective:
Workshop is designed to introduce the primary features and abilities of Final Cut Pro.
Attendees will learn to perform basic editing functions along with becoming familiar with the
Final Cut Pro interface.
Prerequisites:
Attendees must be comfortable with the general operations and navigation of a computer. The
understanding of the Apple/Macintosh operating system is desired, however not required.
What you will learn:
Set-Up; Logging and Capturing footage; Building and Finishing a Rough Cut Edit; Applying
Transitions; Creating titles; and Common Mistakes.
Parking and Location Information:
Georgia State University “G” Deck is free on weekends for anyone attending a GSU events. You must enter through the entrance with a parking attendant, which off Decatur Street. After parking you would walk out the exit at the corner of Decatur and Central and there will be Classroom South. Take the elevator to the 4th floor, turn left, and then turn right and room 403 is right there. Classroom South is located at the corner of Decatur and Central Ave.
All participants must be pre-registered. There will be NO on-site registration.
